I went to Dr. Hov initially for my knee injury after spraining it playing basketball about 6 years ago. What really stood out for me was his attention to detail and emphasis on doing everything correctly, without cutting corners. I've been going to him ever since, for any and every injury I have.

I started seeing Dr. Hov after dealing with back pain since high school. I had a disc herniation which according to every other doctor I saw was the end of my athletic career. I was always an athlete, from being on the track team to surfing, and it was killing me that I couldn't do any of it. Luckily I started working with Hov, and he really made me understand not only the anatomy and biomechanics of my injury, but really simplified what needs to be done to get back where I wanted to be.

After finding out I had a labral tear that was causing severe hip pain. Dr. Hov created a plan and program to reduce and eventually stop the pain while strengthening my body to avoid future flare ups. I have successfully avoided surgery and now have no pain at all. Dr. Hov is the absolute best!

I had a traumatic injury while playing basketball resulting in an ACL tear. I knew Dr. Hov because he had treated my friend so I got in touch with him. He helped through the whole process. From giving me recommendations on surgeons, to getting me ready for surgery, to explaining timelines and expectations after surgery and of course rehabbing me for 9 months post surgery. I really don't think I would be able to do the things I'm able to do now without his help.

As an orthopedic surgeon, I sought a personal trainer with a deeper understanding of anatomy and biomechanics. Additionally, dealing with my own aches and pains, I recognized the benefit of working with someone who had a background in physical therapy. After Dr. Hov successfully treated my daughter for a hip injury, I decided to reach out to him. We've now been working together for almost five years, and he has become indispensable to me.

I met Dr. Hov after my ACL surgery, and thank god I met him, because I couldn't have done it without him. He was so knowledgeable about the injury, the surgery and getting my body ready to get through the grind of rehab for 9 months. He was also my therapist mentally, because that injury is a tough one to take. His personality, his energy, and just the way he gets you through the day and physically and mentally ready. I couldn't be more grateful. He is now, not only my physical therapist but also my friend. Now any time I have an injury he is only one phone call away.

sERVICES
BIOMECHANICAL ASSESSMENT
A detailed evaluation that investigates the mechanical forces and interactions within the body during movement. This complex analysis involves examining strength, range of motion, mobility, posture and movement patterns.
JOINT MANIPULATION
A therapeutic technique used to improve spinal function and alleviate pain. It involves applying a controlled, sudden force to specific joints to restore mobility and enhance overall function.
JOINT MOBILIZATION
A therapeutic technique involving passively and gently oscillating a specific joint in a specific direction in a controlled speed in order to improve joint function, decrease pain, decrease inflammation and increase range of motion.
CORRECTIVE EXERCISES
Specialized movements designed to address and correct imbalances, weaknesses, postural issues and improper movement patterns in the body. These exercises aim to correct faulty movement patterns, improve strength and mobility, enhance overall body mechanics and restore optimal function.
PERSONAL TRAINING
Involves one-on-one training tailored to your individual needs and goals. The program will be designed to consider a clients fitness level, health status and objectives, whether its weight loss, muscle gain, sports performance or overall fitness improvement.
CUPPING THERAPY
Myofascial decompression is an alternative treatment where suction cups are placed on the skin to create a vacuum effect. It is used to facilitate circulation, relieve muscle tension, reduce inflammation and alleviate pain.
SCRAPING THERAPY
Utilizing a tool, the scraping action creates redness and temporary bruising as it releases stagnant blood and promotes circulation to the treated area. It is used to reduce inflammation, alleviate muscle tension, decrease pain and improve range of motion.
BLOOD-FLOW RESTRICTION TRAINING
Utilizing inflatable cuffs to temporarily restrict blood flow to the muscles, this tool helps manipulate your system in releasing beneficial nutrients and growth hormones to your body that you would normally get from heavy load/weight to your muscles. This allows you to get similar muscle-building effects with ligther weights and less load on your muscles/joints/ligaments/tendons.
DEEP TISSUE MASSAGE
Focusing on deeper layers of muscles and connective tissue, this technique involves applying firm, targeted pressure to areas of tension, tightness and restrictions. Effective in relieving pain, improving flexibility, and enhancing overall muscle function.
MOBILITY TRAINING
Utilizing techniques and exercises to improve flexibility, joint range of motion and overall functional movement patterns. It focuses on enhancing the body's ability to move effectively and efficiently through various planes of motion.
PRE-SURGERY REHAB
Prior to surgery, patient's must reach certain criteria with range of motion, strength, swelling and gait in order to be cleared by the surgeon. In addition, prehab has been shown to improve overall surgical outcomes, recovery times and reduce post-op complications.
POST-SURGERY REHAB
Once you are cleared by your surgeon, you should start physical therapy immediately in order to ensure proper recovery and outcomes. A detailed and planned program is crucial with specific goals, timelines and expectations in order to progress appropriately.
